Get Dressed with Me: 5 Ways to Style a Flannel

Flannel shirts have been a key item in my closet since I was a teenager in the 90's.  My fave color combo is red and navy in my flannels.  But I also love green & black, green & navy, blue & black, and pretty much any color and black.  I prefer to get my flannels at the thrift or vintage stores because I like them pre-broken in... washed like 100 times.  This video covers 5 ways I love to style my flannel shirts. The pencil skirt in look 1 is from Bill Blass archives from the 80's given to me ages ago by Prabal Gurung when he was designing the collection there.  The platform shoes in this video are from Prada and I swooped those babies up at a sample sale in London years back.  The trousers in look 2 are tux tapered trousers from Celine that I scored on Ebay.  And the dark denim flare jeans in look 3, I bought from J Brand back in the day when I was consulting for them.  The fit is the Love Story jean shape.  The fun floral dress in the video was a total score from Forever 21 a couple of years ago when my sister dragged me into the store to shop for her and I couldn't resist buying this little dress for $20.  The blue sneakers in the last two looks are Nike Skate Boarding Mids I found online last fall and bought three pair of them.  Love the way that sneaker makes my leg look skinny. The red suede shorts in the last look where another vintage store find, I can't even remember where I found them.  But I do remember I got them for a calendar shoot I was styling in the desert years ago with Anne V, Izabel Goulart and Tori Praver.  I love the sexy 70's cut of these shorts!

Have fun with your flannels and shop the links below for similar items to the clothing I used in the video.
